After playing a YouTube video online, you may want to download it, but to do so you need some kind of tools like YouTube Downloader app on your PC/laptop or your phone, if you don’t have that at hand, this blog is for you, just download any YouTube video using VLC media player
To
download YouTube video using VLC media player:
1st: Go to VLC
installation folder playlist directory , it usually is found at: C:\Program
Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist
2nd: Open this link and copy all its contents :
http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=blob_plain;f=share/lua/playlist/youtube.lua;hb=HEAD
3rd: paste the all the text you copied from the
above link in any text editor and save it with the name youtube.luac (the name should be the same us the previous file).
Don’t forget to choose All files from the save as type drop down menu , as shown below.
4th: Now copy the file you have saved as youtube.luac and replace/overwrite
the file that exists in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist
Now after replacing,
the file should not be encrypted as before,
open and check
7th: Once the Video started to play, go to Tools,
then click on Codec information
8th: From codec information window, click the codec
tab, then copy all the text from location
text box at the bottom ,
9th: Now, open your browser and paste the, URL you copied
from location text box to address bar
of the browser,
10th: Once the Video started to play in the browser, Right
click on it and choose, save video as
Finally, save the video as .mp4 file format and don’t forget to
choose All files from the save as
file type dropdown menu.
Now your video file should start
downloading
